About Designer

After high school, Johnathan Sibley went to art school where he honed his skills in design, painting, sculpture, jewelry, and illustration. After art school, Johnathan worked as a graphic artist and designer, CNC programmer, luthier, jewelry maker, and furniture maker. But, all roads led back to knifemaking. Every new skill was incorporated into it.
Johnathan Sibley now owns a storefront knife shop, The Blade Bar, in downtown Ben Wheeler, Texas. He makes hand-forged knives by day, under the name Djinn Knives, and works on designs for production knives in the evenings. Johnathan is grateful that he is "living the dream" doing what he loves to support his family.
He had the opportunity to compete on the History Channel's 'Forged in Fire' in 2018 and he was a finalist in season 5, episode 10 of the show. Johnathan is very excited to bring you all of his designs, and share his love for design, met with his love for a functional, artistically-designed daily knife.

About Design

The Havørn, like it's name sake (the White-Tailed Eagle) is swift, agile, and sleek. This full sized framelock carries light thanks to generous internal milling of its 6al4v Titanium frame and carbonfiber inlay. It's design offers users multiple deployment options. The show side wave milling is echoed on the milled and not only adds visual interest but a little extra grip.

Inspired by the White-Tailed Eagle,the Havørn is designed to embody the bird's grace and swiftness. Its streamlined, aerodynamic shape ensures effortless maneuverability and a sleek appearance, while its agile design allows for quick, precise movements.

The knife features both front and standard flippers for quick deployment. The blade is made from CPM S35VN steel with a full flat grind, making it well-suited for a wide range of everyday cutting tasks.

SPECIFICATIONS

The Damascus steel we use is a premium composite of 9Cr and 440C stainless steels, distinguishing it from lower-quality options. This is genuine, layered stainless Damascus—not simply etched or patterned imitations seen in cheaper knives. Unlike traditional high-carbon Damascus, which is prone to rust, this stainless Damascus combines exceptional durability with corrosion resistance, making it ideal for lasting use. Comparable to high-end stainless Damascus like Damasteel, our steel surpasses carbon-based Damascus commonly used in brands like Kershaw in both quality and performance.
