KANSEPT BTF Thumb Disc Knife Brown Micarta Handle (3.24'' Damascus Blade)Rolf Helbig-K1064A4
About Designer
Like many young boys, Rolf Helbig carried a pocket knife. In 1977 when he started his first job, helping his father in the kitchen, his chef knife was the most important tool. At that time knife steels were changing, and by doing a little research, Rolf found metallurgy to be a very interesting field, and he learned a knife is not just a knife.
About Design
The BTF (Basic Tanto Folder) idea came from my research into different classic knife designs. When I was learning about Japanese knives, I came across the kwaiken model. This classic time-tested knife sported an all-purpose blade type combined with a neutral handle, and all I did was modernize it into a folder. Kansept kept the traditional round spine on the blade, and the contoured G-10 handle mimics bamboo.
FEATURES
- Enhanced Grip and Comfort The undulating surface of the handle improves anti-slip properties and enhances safety and comfort when in use; this ergonomic design conforms to the natural curves of the palm of the hand, disperses pressure during cutting tasks, reduces hand fatigue, and provides a more comfortable and natural grip.
- Lightweight Reliability The simple design of the liner lock keeps the tool lightweight while providing a reliable locking function, suitable for daily carrying and use.
- Efficient Pocket Access The angled pocket clip design keeps the knife in the pocket at an inclined angle, making it easy for the user to quickly grab and remove it for improved efficiency.

The Damascus steel we use is a premium composite of 9Cr and 440C stainless steels, distinguishing it from lower-quality options. This is genuine, layered stainless Damascus—not simply etched or patterned imitations seen in cheaper knives. Unlike traditional high-carbon Damascus, which is prone to rust, this stainless Damascus combines exceptional durability with corrosion resistance, making it ideal for lasting use. Comparable to high-end stainless Damascus like Damasteel, our steel surpasses carbon-based Damascus commonly used in brands like Kershaw in both quality and performance.
